love is...

anyone remember those old comics from the '6os? i was walking to work this morning  trying to keep my umbrella from turning inside out with a hand that had frozen into a claw, when i noticed a couple walking in front of me. not only were they holding their umbrellas but they were also holding hands in the frigid wind tunnel otherwise known as front street. they reminded me of this comic strip and thought i'd take a stab at one:

love is...holding hands even when it's freezing cold outside.

and while we're talking love, i know a lot of you are la-la-loving the new metric album (yay!)...but nobody seems to have downloaded their acoustic version of 'help im alive'. it's awes. and makes me wish i learned the piano. le sigh. i've posted the song below (thanks to drew for the spiffy new audio player! :) )
